About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team and focus on providing high-quality patient care as part of a healthcare team. This role involves independent patient evaluation and treatment within a hospital setting.

Requirements

• At least two years of inpatient cardiology experience as an APN or PA (RN experience does not count).
• Strong clinical skills; able to see patients independently in the hospital setting.
• Comfortable independently evaluating and treating cardiac patients.
• Proactive and receptive to the tedious hospital and insurance credentialing process (takes at least 3 months for hospital, 6 for insurance).
• Must have proof of prior malpractice gap insurance.
• Expert EKG interpretation.
• Prior critical care experience (nursing or NP).
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership qualities.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience independently performing cardiac stress testing preferred (but not required; we can train).

Responsibilities

• See a minimal average of 10-15 patients daily in an inpatient setting.
• Perform stress testing (training provided).
• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic cardiac illnesses.
• Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures.
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
• Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care.
