About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Cardiologist in Portsmouth, OH. The role involves inpatient coverage, including clinical duties and call, from August 31, 2026, to September 25, 2026. The physician will be responsible for inpatient rounding, cardiovascular testing, managing a patient load with NPs, and providing weekday call coverage. The facility uses MediTech EMR and has a support staff of 2 NPs.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC)
- Licensed in OH or IMLC
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Fellowship required
- Inpatient Cardiology experience
- ICU experience
- Non-invasive cardiology experience
- Echocardiography experience
- TEE (Transesophageal Echo) experience
- Nuclear Cardiology (Cardiolyte, thallium, etc.) experience
- STEMI management experience

Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient rounding for cardiology patients.
- Conduct cardiovascular testing and diagnostics.
- Manage patient load in collaboration with independent nurse practitioners.
- Provide weekday call coverage for cardiology consults.
- Supervise and coordinate with independent NPs to ensure comprehensive patient care.
