The Cardiologist shall cover the range of cardiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility. This role involves working collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals including Cardiology Nurse Practitioners, Cardiology Physician Assistants, ED physicians, Hospitalists, inpatient residents, medical officer of the day (MODs), medical specialists, and surgical specialists for cardiology inpatient consultants. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper communication with Primary Care and specialty physicians for both inpatient and outpatient cardiology consults. The Cardiologist is responsible for documenting progress notes, procedure notes, orders, and encounters within the electronic medical record, adhering to SLCHCS rules and regulations within 48 hours of the encounter. The role requires following current directives, handbooks, and policies for the facility, meeting documentation requirements for third-party billing, and ensuring smooth and timely patient flow for cardiology patients. Compliance with The Joint Commission National Center for Patient Safety goals and accreditation standards is essential. The Cardiologist will evaluate and manage both new and established cardiology clinic patients.
