About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiologist for a Locum Tenens position in Pocatello, ID. This is an inpatient role covering a supplemental need. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, requiring both clinical duties and call. The schedule involves 10-hour shifts, with potential for 8 or 9-hour shifts. Call is scheduled for weeknights with a beeper system, a 20-minute response time, and a 20% call-back rate. The call ratio is 1:4. Phone consults are estimated at 4-6, with patient volumes ranging from 13-18 and 1-3 admissions. Rounding is included. The physician will be supported by 6 RNs, 1 APP, and 4 MAs, with the APP available at the hospital to assist with daily tasks and notes. Duties include working a regular 10-hour clinical shift on-site and being available for emergencies, followed by night call responsibilities and potential in-person callbacks. Required procedures include IP Cardiology (ICU) and Non-invasive Echocardiography. The EMR system is Epic. The facility has a Trauma Level II designation and 20 beds in the department. This is a consulting service, with hospitalists managing most admissions. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Active ID License or IMLC
• BC (Board Certified)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ABLS (Advanced Bleeding Control and Management)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Fellowship completion in Cardiology

Responsibilities

• Work regular 10-hour clinical shifts on-site.
• Be available for emergencies during clinical shifts.
• Carry the pager for night call and any related in-person callback.
• Perform IP Cardiology (ICU) procedures.
• Perform Non-invasive Echocardiography.
• Conduct phone consults.
• Manage patient volume of 13-18.
• Handle admissions (1-3).
• Participate in rounding.
