About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiologist for a Locum Tenens position at a hospital in Ronceverte, WV. This role involves both clinical duties and 24/7 call coverage. The coverage period is from June 1, 2026, ongoing, with a minimum commitment of 6 months. The clinical shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with beeper call coverage. The patient population primarily consists of adults aged 50 and above, with a patient volume of 20-25 patients per clinic day. Responsibilities include admissions, rounding, phone consults, and managing a case mix of general cardiology. The facility has 122 beds in the department and utilizes the Cerner EMR system, with support staff including Medical Assistants and one RN. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are available. Credentialing typically takes 30-45 days.

Requirements

• Active WV License or IMLC Accepted
• Board Certified in Cardiology
• DEA Required
• BLS, ACLS, TEE certifications
• Ability to perform and interpret cardiac diagnostic testing

Nice To Haves

• Ability to perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Ability to perform Holter Monitor Placement
• Ability to perform Stress Testing (Exercise & Nuclear)
• Ability to perform Echocardiograms and TEE
• Ability to perform Cardioversions

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new and established cardiology patients
• Perform cardiac risk assessments and diagnostic procedures
• Supervise cardiac testing and imaging
• Provide inpatient rounding and consultations
• Participate in 24/7 call coverage
