The Cardio Catheterization Technician performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist the physicians during cardiovascular procedures and surgeries. This role involves using imaging equipment to detect and treat heart and blood vessel issues, taking patient medical histories, answering patient questions, ensuring equipment is in good working order, executing noninvasive procedures like ultrasound images, evaluating image quality, distinguishing between normal and abnormal images, communicating results to physicians, and assisting with invasive procedures such as catheter insertion. The technician must adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
