About The Position

The Cardio Catheterization Technician performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist physicians in performing complex invasive cardiac catheterization procedures and surgeries. Uses imaging equipment to help doctors detect and treat any heart and blood vessel issues. Takes patients’ medical history and answers patients’ questions before any procedure is done. Ensures that the equipment is in good working order and ready for use. Executes any noninvasive course of action, such as ultrasound images. Evaluates images to ensure good quality and makes sure that area in question is included. Keeps abreast of the differences between a normal image and an abnormal image. Communicates with the physician regarding the results of the image. Assists the physician with inserting catheters and other invasive procedures. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
