The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 2 will coordinate scheduling and patient flow, independently perform Cardiac Ultrasounds including contrast and agitated saline, and assist with Stress echoes and Metabolic Stress echoes. This role involves assisting with the education and training of new technologists, fellows, and physicians, and collaborating with Cardiologists to develop new protocols and imaging techniques. The technologist will also participate in research initiatives, monitor procedure charging, and ensure the accuracy of patient records. Responsibilities include operating Cardiac Ultrasound scanners, integrating patient data, maintaining quality standards, assisting with patient positioning, and adhering to aseptic techniques and universal precautions. The role also involves assisting with interventional procedures, evaluating scan quality, preparing preliminary reports, and charging procedures and supplies. Patient care includes managing physical and psychological needs, applying age-specific care, performing basic nursing functions, and initiating life support measures if necessary. The technologist will maintain a clean work area, provide on-call coverage, report unusual findings, and adhere to hospital and regulatory guidelines. This position may be expanded to include other duties as necessary.
