The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 2 (H) position in the Cardiology Lab is a full-time role requiring the individual to coordinate scheduling and patient flow, independently perform cardiac ultrasounds (including contrast, agitated saline, Stress echoes, and Metabolic Stress echoes) per protocol, and assist with the education and training of new staff, fellows, and physicians. The role also involves assisting cardiologists in developing new protocols and imaging techniques, participating in research initiatives, monitoring procedure charging, and ensuring the appropriateness of cardiac ultrasound exam orders. The technologist must verify patient identification, obtain necessary consents and education, perform specialized tasks with cardiac ultrasound scanners, integrate diagnostic information, and adhere to high-quality imaging standards. Responsibilities include assisting with patient positioning, maintaining aseptic technique, completing procedures independently (including IVs and contrast injections), assisting cardiologists with interventional procedures, evaluating scan quality, preparing preliminary reports, charging procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records. The role also involves providing patient comfort and education, addressing age-specific care needs, performing basic nursing functions, initiating life support measures if necessary, performing CPR, maintaining a clean work area, providing on-call coverage, reporting unusual findings, and adhering to hospital/department HR policies and regulatory guidelines. This position also assists with the day-to-day operations within the department.
