Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital opened on Jan. 19, 1965, as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today, Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status. This position involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations, including two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode, transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms, and saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. The role also includes instructing medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. The Cardiac Ultrasonographer may also act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
