About The Position

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for our Cardiac Surgery Critical Care team. This is a full-time position that promotes a work/life balance. Position consists of covering cardiac surgery ICU with rotating days, nights, and weekends; working six 12 hr shifts and one 8 hr shift. Responsibilities and duties for the cardiac surgery patient include: consultations, pre-operative assessments, post-op critical care, daily progress notes, occasional admissions and discharges removal of chest tubes/pacing wires/IABPs, and placement of central lines and arterial lines. Our ChristianaCare Cardiac Surgery program performs multiple procedures including CABG, Valve, Complex Aortic Surgeries, TAVR, Endografts, LVAD, and ECMOs. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. Requirements

Board certified Physician Assistant or Master’s degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
One year of cardiac surgery experience preferred
Licensure or license eligible in the state of Delaware
Prescriptive authority required
Apply for and receive DEA number to prescribe controlled substances
ACLS required
