About The Position

Inpatient coverage Average census 13 Procedures required including CVCs, HDs and arterial lines Responsibilities include: Vent management Assist with decompensating patients overnight Admissions from ED, hospital floor and transfers Updating family and goals of care on decompensating patients overnight Schedule: June coverage needs: Days - 1, 2, 11, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 29, 30 July coverage needs: Days - 1, 6, 9, 11, 12, 16-22, 24, 27 Nights - 24-27 August coverage needs TBD Facility will work around provider ability as much as possible Patient Population: Adult EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 2-4 weeks

Requirements

  • Active Virginia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Critical Care experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Virginia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
  • Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team

Responsibilities

  • Vent management
  • Assist with decompensating patients overnight
  • Admissions from ED, hospital floor and transfers
  • Updating family and goals of care on decompensating patients overnight
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
