This role offers opportunities for career development and advancement for a Cardiac Sonographer I, II, III, or IV. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus based on eligibility. The Cardiac Sonographer will demonstrate proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiograms, as requested by a physician and in accordance with established protocols. They will record quality information, explain procedures to patients and families, and provide echocardiography services at all necessary locations, including portables. The role involves working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled. The Cardiac Sonographer will operate and maintain equipment, analyze patient medical records, prepare preliminary reports, and participate in quality improvement activities. They will maintain patient confidentiality, instruct students and other healthcare personnel, and communicate technical and patient care information. Attendance at Echo Lab Meetings and Echo-related conferences is expected for continuing education and professional growth. Level 4 Cardiac Sonographers have additional expectations, including participation in research protocols, performing inpatient echocardiograms on weekends, holidays, and on-call, acting as a resource in leadership's absence, and actively participating in educational opportunities. They are expected to be role models and troubleshoot equipment and EMR/Cardiac PAC system issues.
