About The Position
Cardiac sonographers work with doctors to assess a patient’s heart condition through the detailed images taken during an echocardiogram.
Requirements
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or Cardiovascular Technology program that is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) is required.
- Associate degree in Science or Equivalent
- Experience in Echocardiography is preferred
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with a Cardiac Credential.
- Compliance with Continuing Education Requirements
- BLS in CPR/First Aid for Health Care Professionals
- RVT
- Drug Screen
- Tuberculosis Test

- Respirator Fit
Responsibilities
- Performing echocardiogram tests to obtain important data about patients
- Looking at blood flow, valve function, and chamber size to determine the overall condition of the heart
- Assisting physicians in the diagnosis of patients with heart conditions
- Accurately recording patient data and test results
- Helping with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or cleaning equipment
