The Cardiac Sonographer I is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler, to obtain accurate, high-quality results. This role may involve assisting physicians in the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs by performing echocardiograph studies. The sonographer will identify and define cardiac abnormalities, prepare patients for procedures by obtaining clinical history, and adapt imaging techniques accordingly. Additionally, the position involves assisting in transesophageal studies, communicating clinical findings, recording statistics, and performing daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development across the life span.
