About The Position

Melissa Memorial Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Rehab Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering patient care based on comprehensive assessment, analysis, communication, collaboration, and educational needs. The specialist will develop exercise prescriptions, oversee patient progression, perform diagnostic tests, monitor and document patient response to exercise, and provide education on exercise and disease management. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate equipment and perform procedures safely. The work schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with potential for full-time or part-time employment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current, valid RN, Paramedic, Exercise Physiology Degree, or a valid certification to perform Cardiac Rehab
  • Licensed in the state of Colorado.
  • BLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related field.
  • 1-2 years Cardiac Rehab experience.
  • Bilingual preferred but not essential
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, TNCC, ACLS, PALS.

Responsibilities

  • Develops exercise prescription, oversees exercise progression/ability of patients, and/or performs diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor, assess, treat, and document patient tolerance of exercise in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Provides exercise prescriptions for patients utilizing assessment data, patient status, current medication regimen, and updates exercise prescriptions according to patient response.
  • Recognizes contraindications to exercise, and abnormal patient responses, and responds appropriately to all situations.
  • Provides exercise and disease management education for patients, peers, and the community.
  • EKG monitoring
  • Ambulatory monitoring placement, including Holter and e-patch placement.
  • Initial download and scanning of Holter telemetry reports.
  • Perform ABI ankle brachial indexes for screen.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment.
  • Manual dexterity and physical ability to operate all equipment and perform all procedures.
  • Utilizes safe body mechanics to ensure patient and caregiver safety.
