About The Position

The Cardiac Rehab Coordinator role involves coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in collaboration with the Nurse Supervisor and Medical Directors. This position requires extensive knowledge of ambulatory care clinical, regulatory, and operational practices to ensure compliance while improving access, efficiency, and productivity. The Coordinator implements clinical and operational procedures to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care and compliance with both internal standards and external regulations. Additionally, the role supports Cardiac Rehab staff in program operations and participates in the development of clinic goals, implementing complex changes and new procedures as needed. The Cardiac Rehab Coordinator regularly assesses clinic processes and operational data to identify trends, recommending methods and processes that improve patient access, operational efficiency, and productivity. Overall, this role is critical in supporting patients recovering from cardiovascular events, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and driving operational excellence in ambulatory care settings. It combines clinical coordination and operational management to deliver high-quality, efficient care that meets patient needs and organizational goals. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience or training
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
2 years of experience working in Card Rehab

Responsibilities

Coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Center to ensure smooth workflows and seamless patient care delivery.
Implements clinical and operational procedures to maintain efficiency, quality, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Collaborates closely with the Nurse Supervisor and Medical Directors to align clinic operations with organizational goals and patient care standards.
Promotes a workplace culture focused on patient-centered care, aiming to meet or exceed patient satisfaction and service standards.
Regularly reviews clinical workflows and operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes that increase accessibility and service quality.
Oversee and facilitates the flow of patient care activities and coordination of the interdisciplinary clinical staff for assigned clinics/centers/programs.
Assures quality care, and compliance with internal policy, external regulations and accepted practices across the continuum of care.
Handles patient-related issues such as complaints, concerns involving clinicians or staff, and insurance denials or appeals.
Serves as a backup for patient billing issues, collaborating with patient financial services to address denial reimbursement inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies.
Reviews physician notes and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance, billing accuracy, and proper communication of care plans.
Coordinates with clinic teams across sites to standardize clinical workflows, insurance coverage, coding practices, and operational procedures.
Establishes protocols and standards for patient outreach and communication to ensure consistency in care delivery.
Conducts regular assessments of clinic workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency enhancements.
Collaborates with staff and leadership to align operations with best practices, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across all program options.
Ensures that clinic operations adhere to internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards specific to Cardiac Rehabilitation services.
Maintains compliance and ensures the quality of all program offerings by knowing regulatory changes, Medicare guidelines, and commercial insurance rules.
Recommends internal policies and procedures designed to uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Ensures Environmental Health and Safety compliance.
Ensures Joint Commission preparedness, meeting accreditation requirements and remaining inspection-ready.
Proactively addresses safety concerns by collaborating with the nurse supervisor and Health System teams to adhere to established safety protocols.
Ensures effective communication and implementation of system updates and changes, such as APeX revisions, to streamline clinic workflows and enhance technology utilization.
Works closely with IT teams to identify and address technology needs, resolve system-related issues, and ensure staff are properly trained on new workflows, software, and technology enhancements.
Fosters staff understanding and engagement with updated systems to maintain efficiency and compliance in clinical operations.
