The tech monitors patients and keeps the RN informed of their status, contacting the RN for critical situations like hypotension, dysrhythmias, chest pain, hypoglycemia, or procedure site complications, and follows established emergency care procedures until the RN arrives. They perform data collection for pain, procedure site checks, and extremity pulse checks, reporting to the RN. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record is required. The role involves preparing patient rooms for admission/discharge, assisting with the admission/discharge process, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique. Assistance with post-mortem care is also required.
