About The Position
UW Medicine's Telesitter Program located at Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Cardiac Monitor Technician (CMT). The CMT Telesitter program provides monitoring from a central monitoring center for patients of UW Medicine who require cardiac telemetry surveillance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a course in cardiac dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, or one year experience in monitor surveillance in a coronary care/telemetry unit
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
Responsibilities
- Assist the nursing staff with surveillance of cardiac monitors including identification and communication of dysrhythmias
- Assist with the clerical and support activities for patient care on the nursing unit
- Receive visitors to the unit and facilitates contact between the patient/family and appropriate discipline
- Participate in unit and selected departmental activities to promote effective problem solving and communication
