About The Position

Performs continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN. This role involves accurately analyzing, interpreting, and recording ECG rhythms, maintaining continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at the central monitor and during patient transport, identifying changes and responding or reporting to the RN as appropriate. The technician is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining telemetry monitors/holders, accounting for monitors upon patient discharge, demonstrating knowledge of central station and bedside monitors, and ensuring alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings. Additional duties may include video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones.

Requirements

  • Minimum Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire is required.
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Compliance with ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.
  • Compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices and Privacy Policies and Procedures.
  • Compliance with all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices and Information Security Policy.
  • Compliance with the company’s Code of Business Conduct, including adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as well as company policies and training requirements.
