About The Position

Performs continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN. This role involves accurately analyzing, interpreting, and recording ECG rhythms, maintaining continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at the central monitor and during patient transport, identifying changes and responding or reporting to the RN as appropriate. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining telemetry monitors/holders, accounting for monitors upon patient discharge, and ensuring alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings. Additional duties may include video monitoring, order entry, and answering phones.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire.

  • EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience.
