About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a full-time Cardiac Exercise Technician to join Memorial Cardiology Associates in Houston, Texas. The technician supports cardiac testing and patient care by preparing patients and equipment, recording electrocardiograms and vital signs, assisting clinical staff during critical care events, maintaining exam records, and helping ensure the department’s schedules and supplies are managed effectively.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR certification.
Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

Prior IV or cardiac experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Explain testing procedures to patients and obtain consent forms.
Attach electrodes to patients’ arms, legs, and chest.
Place IVs for patient exams.
Start the electrocardiograph and record vital-sign data.
Inform the technologist of wave abnormalities on electrocardiograms.
Support the Advanced Practitioner and Nuclear Medicine Technologist during critical care events.
Create a PDF of completed EKG exams.
Upload exams to the patient chart and PACS system.
Document patient vital signs for the final report.
Clean, adjust, and routinely maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Maintain accurate inventory of materials and supplies.
Verify patient appointments the day before and confirm appointment time and location.
Assist in training new personnel.
Help notify patients of special instructions before testing.
Help maintain department volume and productivity through schedule management.
Escort patients to check-out.
Perform other duties as required.
