Produces ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures for use by Physician in diagnosis and study of heart disease. Requirements

  • Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level, in Cardiac Ultrasonography.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registry in accordance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines within 2 years of hire and maintained thereafter.
  • State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is required.
  • Experience in Cardiac Ultrasonography is required , will consider clinical days/time as experience, minimum of 6 to 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Performs transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) exams.
  • Performs stress echocardiogram (STEC) exams.
  • Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) exams.
  • Documents and maintains patient and test data.
  • Manages time and workload fluctuations.
  • Assesses patients and adapts to changing clinical situations.
  • Completes billing for tests performed.
  • Utilizes and maintains departmental and hospital equipment.
  • Completes departmental and hospital requirements.
  • Involves self in departmental, team and committee goals.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for individual performance goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
