Produces ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures for use by Physician in diagnosis and study of heart disease. Requirements
- Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level, in Cardiac Ultrasonography.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registry in accordance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines within 2 years of hire and maintained thereafter.
- State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is required.
- Experience in Cardiac Ultrasonography is required , will consider clinical days/time as experience, minimum of 6 to 12 months
Responsibilities
- Performs transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) exams.
- Performs stress echocardiogram (STEC) exams.
- Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) exams.
- Documents and maintains patient and test data.
- Manages time and workload fluctuations.
- Assesses patients and adapts to changing clinical situations.
- Completes billing for tests performed.
- Utilizes and maintains departmental and hospital equipment.
- Completes departmental and hospital requirements.
- Involves self in departmental, team and committee goals.
- Takes ownership and responsibility for individual performance goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
