About The Position

The Device Technician supports the operations of the Device Clinic at East Carolina Heart Institute by assisting with the interrogation, programming, and documentation of implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders. The role collaborates with electrophysiologists, APPs, and nursing staff to ensure accurate reporting, timely patient follow-up, and optimal patient care.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is a day-shift role with no nights, evening shifts, call requirements, or weekends. The pay range is $23.52–$34.28.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education is also acceptable.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in cardiology or electrophysiology.
• Completion of an industry-recognized device certification course, such as IBHRE or vendor-specific training; if not already completed, certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Strong knowledge of implantable cardiac devices and familiarity with device manufacturers' programmers, such as Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Abbott, and Biotronik.
• Experience with Epic and/or device-specific software platforms.
