Operates cardiac cath and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. Prepares patients for exams by relieving anxiety and explaining procedures in layman's terms. Ensures consent forms are obtained. Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and departmental procedures. Positions patients, arranges immobilization devices, and adjusts x-ray equipment. Monitors patient condition during procedures, recognizing and reporting abnormalities like fainting, discoloration, or contrast reactions to the Radiologist. Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information. Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival. Processes and maintains exposed images, labels films, and maintains required records. Ensures images are properly marked and labeled with correct date and patient identification. Enters exams onto the daily log sheet and completes tracking steps. Performs related duties as required.
