About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for its Cardiac Unit. The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient care. The role is full-time, working night shifts of 12 hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
• IV certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• ACLS (AHA) certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within six months of hire and maintain current training.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an applicable setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care services using technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, meeting patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
• Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
• Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide CPR and patient care, update documentation, collect specimens, and take vital signs.
• Read and monitor EKGs.
