About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for its Cardiac Unit. The nurse provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient care. This is a full-time night-shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Hold a current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Have a current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
• Obtain and maintain current IV certification within 30 days of hire.
• Obtain and maintain current ACLS (AHA) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Complete and maintain current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) training within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an applicable setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, addressing patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
• Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
• Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide CPR and patient care, update documentation, handle specimens, and take vital signs.
• Read and monitor EKGs.
