About The Position
Bon Secours Health System is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. This is a full-time position with newly increased compensation and PTO. St. Mary’s Hospital performs over 27,000 outpatient and inpatient surgeries annually and has served the community since 1966. The anesthesia group covers two high-acuity hospitals in the Richmond area, consisting of 25 physicians and over 70 CRNAs. The practice model emphasizes teamwork, respect, and care excellence, supporting approximately 600 cardiac cases per year.
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- TEE proficiency is required
- Completion of Cardiac Fellowship
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent
- Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
- Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and perform interventions as needed
- Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership
