About The Position

NorthStar is seeking two Cardiac Anesthesiologists to join their team in Brownsville, TX, working on a 26-week on/off schedule. The physician will perform their own cases, with an estimated 80-100 hearts per year shared between cardiac anesthesiologists. TEE proficiency is required, and certification is a plus. The role involves a mix of general and cardiac cases, physician-only cases, at a Level 3 trauma center. The typical weekday schedule is Monday-Friday, 7 am to 3 pm, with 9 operating rooms. Nine operating rooms are available, with 5 autonomously covered by CRNAs and 2 covered by MDs. One CV OR and one OB OR are covered by their respective teams. Each 'on week' includes 5 weekday shifts plus 50% of all weeknight/weekend call shifts. The case mix includes General, OB/Gyn, orthopedic, Neuro, urology, ENT, pediatric, dental, Endo's, and cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

Requirements

• MD will do their own cases.
• TEE proficiency required.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Licensed in Texas.

Nice To Haves

• TEE certification is a plus.
