About The Position

Kennametal Inc. is an industrial technology leader with over 85 years of experience, delivering productivity to customers through materials science, tooling, and wear-resistant solutions. Customers across various sectors, including aerospace and defense, earthworks, energy, general engineering, and transportation, rely on Kennametal for precision and efficiency in manufacturing. The Carbide Pressing role is responsible for the daily set-up, maintenance, operations, and running of EP 30 Pressing Machines that are NC (numerical controlled) with robotics attached to them.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility (Manufacturing Operations).
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing safety (Manufacturing Safety).
  • Knowledge of robotics technologies and computer applications; ability to implement and operate them in an automated manufacturing environment (Robotics/Computer Controlled Machinery).
  • Knowledge of the concepts, methods, tools, and objectives of statistical process controls (SPC (Statistical Process Controls)).

Responsibilities

  • Working in a team environment safely, operating complex production equipment and tools in the manufacture and packaging of various products.
  • Following blueprints, guidelines, diagrams and schematics to ensure product and customer specifications and tolerance levels are met.
  • Executing equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and sustained production.
  • Modify existing equipment and helping design new equipment for continual manufacturing process improvement, providing quality control and in-process production testing.
