About The Position

The Pressing & Refining Operators report to the Utility Operator. This role is the final portion of soy sauce production. This position requires a high level of detail and mechanical aptitude to be successful. In this role one can expect to use various equipment to either press out soy sauce or create variations of the final product including high viscosity items.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Understanding and knowledge of basic mechanics.
  • Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach above shoulders, climb, work at heights, crouch, stoop or kneel.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds usually from floor to waist level, and able to lift 25 pounds repetitively at or above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time.
  • Behave and communicate in a manner which will facilitate good relations with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors; maintaining a positive work atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Working with high and low hydraulic oil pressure.
  • Starting the charging machines and watching and hearing to see if it is running correctly.
  • Running a hoist to lift the stainless-steel plates and lower them into the charging machine.
  • Recording the times of the start, the finish, and the number of folds.
  • General cleaning.
  • Reading digital timers and clearing and resetting of the timers.
  • Pushing buttons, opening valves and watching when preparing to move the cake.
  • Opening an air valve and walking and pushing the cake while on an air pallet.
  • Aligning the cake under a steel cage and lowering the cage over the cake when settling the press.
  • Checking the final alignment when settling the press.
  • Removing the top portion of the cage and replacing it on an empty cage waiting to be washed.
  • Blend & Cook ingredients based on recipes.
  • Heat products based on SOP’s.
  • Filtering and sedimentation NB-Add system and lite system.
  • Dialyzer High Viscosity cooking and mixing.
  • Operating forklift to retrieve and stock ingredients.
  • Loading and Unloading tank trucks.
  • Complying with all departmental & company-wide food safety policies & procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
