About The Position

The Wash Shop is seeking a Car Wash Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair issues on In-Bay Automatic (IBA) wash systems, self-service bays, vacuums, payment systems, and chemical delivery equipment. This role involves working with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and control systems, including using multimeters, reading schematics, and working with various power types. Responsibilities also include installing equipment, performing minor repairs at lube centers, maintaining site appearance, and documenting all work in a maintenance tracking system. This is a field-based, full-time position averaging 45 hours per week, requiring travel and a flexible schedule, including weekends and after-hours calls.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for daily travel between sites.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel, including flying to other states.
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule, including weekends, early mornings, and after-hours calls.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work on roofs, lift 50+ lbs, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting (multimeter, schematics, breaker panels, variable frequency drives).
  • Experience with plumbing (PVC, copper, water lines, chemical lines).
  • Experience with garage doors, automatic doors, or boiler/heating systems.
  • Experience with payment systems (coin acceptors, bill changers, credit card readers).
  • Experience with maintenance tracking software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with In-Bay Automatic (IBA) car wash systems (Ryko, Mark VII, or similar).
  • Experience in HVAC, industrial maintenance, plumbing, electrical, automotive repair, facilities maintenance, or military equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on In-Bay Automatic (IBA) wash systems, self-service bays, vacuums, payment systems, and chemical delivery equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and control system issues.
  • Work with multimeters, schematics, breaker panels, contactors, and single-phase and three-phase power (220/440).
  • Run conduit, wiring, replace wiring, make hydraulic hoses, and run chemical and water lines, PVC and copper pipe.
  • Install equipment into concrete, including anchors, signage, and track systems.
  • Service garage doors, automatic doors, boilers, and floor heating systems.
  • Troubleshoot logically to find the root cause of problems.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance support at oil change lube center locations.
  • Maintain the appearance of bays, lots, vacuum islands, and equipment.
  • Pressure wash bays, clean oil-water separators, shovel mud, and clear drains.
  • Fill chemical dispensers.
  • Lead or support equipment installs, upgrades, and improvement projects.
  • Work with vendors, place service calls, and manage project timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and management.
  • Document every work order in the maintenance tracking system with photos, parts used, root cause, and next steps.
