About The Position

The Car Wash Assistant Manager Level 1 supports the Site Manager and acts as the manager in charge when the Site Manager is unavailable. The role involves training and supervising teammates, supporting site operations, and ensuring work is completed safely in accordance with standard operating procedures. The position is based in an outdoor car wash environment with variable weather, damp and humid conditions, and noise that may sometimes require hearing protection and other personal protective equipment. The team member is expected to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Three or more years of retail experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
Leadership and communication skills, including active listening.
Experience with team building.
Excellent sales and customer service skills.
Ability to anticipate customer needs.
Proficient computer skills.
Strong work ethic and professional attitude.
Ability to perform the job with minimal supervision.
Ability to work safely in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking frequently; using hands and reaching; climbing or balancing; stopping, crouching, and kneeling; and regularly lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in damp and humid conditions and outdoors in variable weather.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing, eye, foot, and hand protection.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma plus 6 months to 1 year of retail and management work experience is preferred.
Supervisory experience in a Big Box environment, the auto industry, a car wash, or a lube store is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Act as the manager in charge when the Site Manager is unavailable.
Order and stock vending items.
Train new hires.
Train teammates on opening and closing checklists and proper loading techniques.
Train the team on Fast Pass sales techniques.
Respond professionally to voicemails and emails in a timely manner.
Create an effective schedule.
Know how to operate the car wash vacuum system and clean it by pressure washing.
Support the Site Manager during monthly team meetings.
Assist with on-site Supervisor Courses.
Supervise teammates completing PM and assess whether further training is needed.
