About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Capoeira/Dance/Martial Arts After School Instructor to lead classes for K-5th grade students. This role involves teaching foundational Capoeira, dance, and martial arts techniques in a fun and structured environment. Classes are typically 60-minute blocks and run Monday through Friday between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The position is based at 210 South Carolina Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003.

Requirements

Experience in teaching Capoeira, dance, or martial arts.
Experience working with children in a K-5th grade age range.
Ability to create and lead engaging class activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Background check may be required.

Nice To Haves

Certification in Capoeira, dance, or martial arts.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Experience with curriculum development for after-school programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and instruct Capoeira, dance, and martial arts classes for K-5th grade students.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
Ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Manage classroom behavior effectively.
Communicate with program coordinators regarding student progress and any issues.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
