About The Position

MISCOwater, a UFT company, is a leading Manufacturers' Representative of process equipment for Water, Wastewater, & Industrial treatment in multiple states. They specialize in providing reliable, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for municipal water and wastewater treatment, representing over 50 companies. As an Engineered Sales Specialist, you will own the entire sales cycle, focusing on developing new business within an assigned territory and retaining/developing business with existing customers. You will help customers identify their equipment needs and provide appropriate process treatment product solutions. This role requires interaction with plant-level personnel, consultants, and contractors, involving in-person consultations, demonstrations, and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience within the municipal water/wastewater industry is required. Experience includes working with or at treatment plants.
  • Experience with sales of engineered process equipment required.
  • Comfortable traveling primarily in Northern California with occasional overnight stays required. Infrequent out of State travel for training and sales meetings with manufacturers.
  • BS in Engineering or operator certification in either water or wastewater or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong professional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a results-based environment.
  • Effective closer.
  • Mechanical/ technical aptitude.
  • Previous experience using CRM software, we use QuickBase.
  • Valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop and close business with new and existing customers.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts.
  • Regularly travel to perform customer consultations to determine needs and solutions and obtain detailed information for estimates and proposals.
  • Maintain involvement on turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other related customer projects to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and product lines represented by the company.
  • Utilize QuickBase (CRM) for all prospecting and customer activities.
  • Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work.
  • Work with the customers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements.
  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
  • Secure orders, guarantee product standards, and assure product delivery.
  • Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands.
  • Help customers solve problems with product usage.
  • Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
