About The Position

The Capital Projects Manager will lead and manage large-scale projects from concept to implementation, working with cross-functional groups to provide value-added engineering and optimal solutions to meet business objectives. This role involves designing new processes and production layouts to continually improve manufacturing processes, providing communication and leadership to ensure alignment and goal achievement, and presenting project updates to the management team. The manager will develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures and other issues affecting manufacturing operations, update and create drawings of equipment layouts, process flow, building structure, and utilities, and work with vendors and sub-contractors to determine project scope, budget, and scheduling.

Requirements

5+ years of experience working in a process manufacturing environment is required.
5+ years leading/managing complex capital plant projects with a proven track record is required.
Proficiency with reading and producing AutoCAD drawings required.
Must have working knowledge of building/construction processes as well as an understanding of rules, regulations and quality standards in a construction environment.
Ability to travel throughout North America.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field is preferred.
An understanding of lean manufacturing with regard to equipment layout and process flow.
Experience in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Leads and manages large scale projects from concepts to implementation; works with cross-functional groups to provide value added engineering and optimum solutions to meet business objectives.
Designs new processes and production layouts that will challenge our current manufacturing process to continually improve.
Provides communication and leadership to ensure the work is aligned and goals are achieved, communicates and presents project updates to the management team.
Develops engineering solutions for repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect our manufacturing operations.
Updates and creates drawings of equipment layouts, flow of process, building structure and utilities based on observation and interpretation on engineering plans.
Works with vendors and sub-contractors to determine project scope, budget and scheduling.
