About The Position

Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions (ILS) is seeking a Contracts Analyst to support a multi-billion-dollar industrial project consisting of multiple contracts, several of which are in excess of $1 billion. This Analyst will report to and support the Senior Contracts Manager and the Project Director for the overall project to draft, review, and manage general and specialty service contracts, along with supportive contract documentation throughout the contract lifecycle. This includes, but is not limited to, Statements of Work (SOW), Change Orders, Contract Terms, and Work Directives related to these contracts. Additionally, this role involves handling similar service contracts and related supportive contract documentation on behalf of Tallgrass. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of contract law and construction processes, and excellent analytical and communication skills to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and support project timelines and budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant direct work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in contract administration or a related role, preferably supporting large-scale capital projects in construction, engineering, or infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe applications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical or construction drawings and specifications is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of materials and service contract law and related terms, and conditions.
  • A minimum of at least one (1) year managing contract negotiation via redlines with the supplier in coordination with a legal team.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of contracts and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Documentation & Administration: Draft, review, and edit contractual agreements, terms, and conditions, including master service agreements, work orders, change orders, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Prepare and administer routine written correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation.
  • Track compliance with contract terms for all relevant parties, maintaining logs, sending reports if necessary, and engaging the necessary stakeholder to obtain deliverables or work products per the contract terms.
  • File and manage all contractual documentation, including deliverables, change orders, invoices, purchase orders, and work directives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and internal policies in collaboration with Legal and Procurement teams.
  • Identify potential risks, conflicting conditions, or omissions during the contract review and negotiation processes, and provide recommendations to the Senior Contracts Manager.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance to ensure compliance with agreed terms, including insurance and bond certificates if applicable.
  • Financial and Budgetary Support: Review and analyze payment applications, cost events, and change orders against contract terms, and support or advise the Project Controls teams in forecasting or invoice reconciliation.
  • Coordination and Communication: Serve as a point of contact for internal teams (legal, finance, procurement, project managers) and external parties (contractors, vendors) regarding contract status, inquiries, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align contract strategies with project goals and objectives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues for senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in the identification, development, and implementation of new contract policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
