Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required preferably in Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • Experience in conceptual development, project management (planning and scheduling projects), design,and implementation of major capital projects.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and related regulatory, engineering, and construction techniques.
  • Professional certifications.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies such as Hands-on experience in the negotiation and management of contracts and agreements with engineering contractors, vendors, regulatory, and government agencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of validation and qualification principles, project management, and change control principles.
  • Ability to understand and utilize financial analyses to make good decisions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in developing and introducing an initiative and gaining subsequent buy-in and support from different levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers, and operations staff.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for and planning, design, and implementation of capital projects for Mt. Vernon site.
  • Ensures effective coordination of all the parallel activities related to each project, and achieves project schedule through minimal unanticipated schedule disruptions. Allocates resources and manages activities to ensure that project objectives are met.
  • Seeks to understand specific customer and stakeholder requirements. Works across organizational and functional boundaries to ensure that customers, peers, and support groups have an understanding of the scope and deliverables for all projects.
  • Possesses broad knowledge of the functional requirements of pharmaceutical facilities and engineering best practices, ensuring that appropriate internal and external resources are incorporated into the project design and execution.
  • Ensures that the construction project and the finished facility are compliant with all applicable safety, regulatory, legal, and company requirements.
  • Works with departmental clients to develop scope, cost, and schedule for capital projects. Develops justification and completes documentation required to obtain project approval.
  • Communicates and collaborates with AE firms, contractors, vendors, and internal groups to implement construction, qualification, and startup of projects.
  • Achieves cost-effective, functional outcomes through the use of design guidelines and standards, value engineering, life cycle costing, and engineering best practices.
  • Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with the approved scope.
  • Works in partnership with site SHE to ensure project engineering activities comply with environmental and safety regulatory standards.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring that project personnel follow site SHE policies and procedures.
  • Expertise on the change control process.Support Facilitation of the Change Control process for Capital Projects
