About The Position

Zions Bancorporation, N.A. is seeking a Capital Markets Business Analyst II - Business Enablement Operation in Charlotte, NC. This role will collaborate with various teams including Derivative Trading/Sales Front Office, Technology & Operations Services, Compliance, Legal, Market Risk Management, Treasury, and Finance to achieve objectives. The analyst will gain familiarity with interest rate and derivatives products such as swaps, caps/floors/collars, and futures, including price/rate settings and cash payment calculations. Daily activities will involve OTC derivatives, client onboarding, trade verification, settlements, confirmations, and counterparty coordination. The role also includes defining and documenting business procedures, understanding ISDA definitions, maintaining client data, reviewing and resolving settlement issues, and investigating discrepancies. A key aspect is developing relationships with stakeholders and performing ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation, relationship building, collaboration attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of the details and mechanics of OTC products (including futures, Options, and swaps) and an inquisitive mind
  • Understanding of banking, markets, industry practices, and market trends
  • Two or more years of related experience
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or equivalent work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Calypso, MarkitWire, Tri_Optima and Bloomberg is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams across Derivative Trading/Sales Front Office, Technology & Operations Services, Compliance, Legal, Market Risk Management, Treasury, and Finance, to deliver necessary objectives as required
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of interest rate and derivatives and become familiar with the various product type (swaps, caps/floors/collars and futures) including understanding of price/rate settings and cash payment calculations
  • Perform daily activities related to OTC derivatives, including but not limited to client onboarding, trade verification, settlements, confirmation and coordinating with counterparties
  • Define and document business procedures when necessary
  • Become familiar with ISDA definitions related to confirmations
  • Input and maintain client data
  • Review and approve settlements activity and resolve settlement issues as needed
  • Work closely with other members of the Operations team in a collaborative environment
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders
  • Work on ad-hoc projects, respond to inquiries, and perform other related tasks
