About The Position

The Capital Markets Analyst - Staff provides analytical support for bond financing, derivatives, debt compliance, investor disclosures, and more. The caregiver engages with external stakeholders and cross-functional teams, providing decision support and comprehensive analysis. Essential Functions Conducts thorough research and analysis of debt and capital markets, including economic trends, financial disclosures, industry reports, and regulatory requirements. Prepares analyses to support strategic decision making regarding Intermountain Health’s debt and derivatives portfolio. Assists in maintaining working relationships by responding to inquiries and providing necessary information. Participates in the preparation of bond documents and financing agreements, including the official statement, in conjunction with the issuance of bonds or other finance-related transactions. Conducts ratio analysis to identify trends, evaluate changes, and monitor key financial metrics. Handles defined tasks and projects related to debt and derivative management, financial due diligence, financial modeling, investor disclosures, bond compliance, and more. Completes financial models, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses to identify feasibility, trends, and risks, and may present findings. Supports financial modeling, systems, and databases, developing queries and automation procedures for data collection and reporting. Prepares professional presentations, reports, and deliverables for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
  • Education is verified.
  • Demonstrated experience in a role with financial modeling and analysis responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing, interpreting, and utilizing a variety of moderately complex data sets.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience requiring application of higher-level judgement and business skills including critical thinking and conceptual problem solving, professional judgement, effective collaboration, and time management.
  • Demonstrated experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to effectively articulate complex ideas both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of capital markets, municipal bonds, and derivatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring effective project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, and sound decision making with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing, interpreting, and utilizing a variety of complex data sets.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, Master’s in Finance, or Master’s in Accounting.
  • Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.

  • Two (2) years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis.
  • One (1) year of experience in financial management, including complex financial modeling experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in financial services, investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or other roles involving capital structures and complex financial transactions.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, and sound decision making with limited supervision.
  • Understanding or experience with tax-exempt bonds; experience completing debt analyses.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL.
  • Experience generating error-free and compelling written and PowerPoint presentations.
