The City of Woodinville is seeking a passionate and experienced Capital Improvement Project Manager to lead a number of high-profile projects and programs as the city experiences rapid growth. This role will lend expertise to the Capital Improvement Program division of the Public Works Department, assisting and reporting to the Public Works Director. The position involves supervising and managing employees, making engineering recommendations, reviewing construction plans, managing projects, conducting engineering studies, and developing work plans. The Capital Improvement Project Manager will also serve in the absence of the Public Works Director on project-related matters and interact with citizens, elected officials, other agencies, and community leaders on sensitive and complex issues. The role requires managing assigned projects and/or programs, including capital improvement projects, engineering plans and studies, under strict schedule and financial constraints. The manager will make highly responsible and complex engineering decisions, provide professional engineering support, develop scopes of work, evaluate and assist in selecting consultants, perform daily engineering decisions, prepare reports, oversee expenditures, conduct public outreach, develop programs, and ensure compliance with regulations. A high degree of independent judgment is required for planning, designing, constructing projects, resolving technical problems, and administering projects within established policies. The position also involves supervising, managing, evaluating, and training staff, and responding to customer service inquiries.
