About The Position

The Capital Improvement Project Administrator provides oversight of the planning and execution of capital improvement projects for the Raleigh Convention Center, Red Hat Amphitheater, and Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek. This role’s primary purpose is to manage, prioritize, schedule, and implement capital projects for these venues, as well as assisting the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts projects, when needed. This position executes all facets of major projects and is an integral piece in keeping projects within scope, on time, and on budget. This position frequently interacts with and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders. It provides coordination and oversight of project design and construction, monitors adherence of projects and processes with policies, procedures, applicable code, specifications, regulations, and standards. It serves as a technical resource and liaison for contractors, consultants, developers, community groups, commission, agencies, City departments, private entities, and other stakeholders; responds to inquiries, requests, and complaints; performs research; provides consultation; identifies and resolves issues. The position provides project management and coordination of stakeholders and resources, which may include consultant selection process, project scoping, contract negotiation, design oversight, schedule monitoring, budget development and funding administration, and project close-out. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical competency and expertise in project and time management, as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with key external and internal stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering field; 3 to 5 years' experience in engineering, construction management or related work OR Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
