Capital Formation Associate

Georgian Partners GrowthToronto, ON
Hybrid

About The Position

The Capital Formation Associate (“Associate”) will support the Capital Formation team in executing Georgian’s fundraising strategy across Growth Funds, Breakout Funds, and SPVs while managing the end-to-end LP journey. Serving as the team’s execution engine, you will translate our investment strategy, AI Lab differentiation, and co-investment programs into high conviction narratives for LPs in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. You will be at the center of Georgian’s interactions with many of the largest and most sophisticated institutional investors across the globe. The Associate will lead project management for fundraising and due diligence cycles, with full ownership of virtual data rooms (VDRs), private placement memorandums (PPMs), operational due diligence requests (ODDs), and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs). Additionally, this role will coordinate technical responses to LP inquiries, and conduct comprehensive market mapping to identify and prioritize prospective global capital partners. By leveraging AI-driven tools and CRM workflows, the Associate will manage Georgian’s global investor pipeline, placement agents, and fundraising milestones. This position is expected to offer a growth track toward a frontline investor coverage role. While the initial focus is the technical and operational mastery of the fundraising process, the Associate is expected to transition into independently originating and managing Georgian’s global LP relationships as a steward of the firm.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, a top-tier placement agent firm, management consulting, or a dedicated investor relations/business development role within private equity.
  • High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (financial modeling/metrics) and PowerPoint/Google Slides, supported with strong technical experience managing and interpreting large data sets, data analysis, data mining, and pattern recognition.
  • High proficiency using AI productivity tools to streamline workflows and accelerate content development is a significant asset.
  • Professional polish and confidence required to navigate high-stakes environments and “manage the room” during senior level engagements.
  • Credibility with institutional executives while maintaining obsessive attention to detail, and the ability to execute complex projects under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, commerce, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HubSpot, Deal Cloud, or similar CRM workflows for pipeline tracking is a nice-to-have asset.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and ongoing maintenance of core fundraising and IR materials, including LP presentations, Georgian overview materials, DDQs, PPMs, ODDs, and general management of the VDR. Coordinate across Finance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure all technical fund metrics (IRR, MOIC, TVPI) and governance policies are accurately represented.
  • Serve as the HubSpot "super-user," managing the full LP lifecycle. Development of "Pipeline Health" reports to identify bottlenecks and geographic coverage gaps, ensuring automated and personalized touchpoints are maintained so no lead goes cold.
  • Conduct investor research and prospecting to identify and profile potential LPs that align with Georgian's investment thesis. Development of detailed institutional profiles to support targeted outreach efforts, ensuring the Capital Formation pipeline is populated with high quality leads.
  • Prepare detailed briefing materials for senior partners prior to LP meetings, highlighting investor preferences, historical concerns, and potential counter-arguments to ensure "Roadshow Readiness."
  • Collaborate with the investment, marketing, compliance, and finance teams to produce quarterly reports and LP Advisory Committee (LPAC) materials. Synthesize complex portfolio milestones, general fund performance, and co-invest highlights into qualitative "value-add" updates for LPs (ad-hoc and cadenced).
  • Implement and leverage AI-driven tools for process and team workflow efficiencies, content development, and pipeline analysis.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for LP inquiries, owning the IR inbox and partnering cross-functionally with finance and compliance teams to deliver accurate, well-coordinated responses.
  • Provide occasional support to Georgian’s Strategic Investments team on LP co-invest syndication processes, including data room administration, transaction documentation support, and pipeline tracking.
