About The Position

The Capital Expenditure Claim Auditor will be responsible for independently assessing and auditing supplier cancellation and change‑related claims involving capitalized assets and capital‑related cost exposures. This role focuses on determining whether supplier claims are appropriately classified, authorized, supported, and contractually committed, in accordance with Company policies and contractual requirements. The Capital Expenditure Claim Auditor plays a key role in CAPEX governance, including evaluation of asset classification, fixed and labor cost authorization, and contract commitment controls. This individual will interact with suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to resolve disputed claims and support fact‑based settlement decisions. The auditor will perform substantive testing of supplier claims, obtaining sufficient and appropriate evidence to support claim recommendations, documenting results and findings, and communicating conclusions to appropriate stakeholders. The selected candidate will perform on‑site verification of tooling, equipment, inventories, and other supplier‑held capital assets that may be included in cancellation or change‑related claims. This individual will also coordinate audit efforts with dealer field auditors, Chrysler Leadership Development program participants, and other internal groups, as applicable. Prepare appropriate management reports as needed. Travel requirements up to 30%, focused primarily in the Midwest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a related field (Audit, Finance, Purchasing, Capital Investment, Tooling, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Cost Engineering)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or other related degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in audit, risk management or accounting/finance
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgment in complex or disputed environments
  • Experience auditing or reviewing supplier claims, capital expenditures, tooling, or fixed‑asset–related costs
  • Working knowledge of CAPEX approval processes, asset classification, and cost authorization controls
  • Understanding of commercial contracts and supplier commitments

Responsibilities

  • Auditing supplier cancellation and change‑related claims involving capitalized assets
  • Evaluating asset classification (capital vs. non‑capital) and alignment with approved investment scope
  • Assessing compliance with CAPEX governance and authorization requirements, including fixed and labor cost approvals
  • Evaluating contract commitment controls, including consistency with purchase orders, contracts, amendments, and termination provisions
  • Performing on‑site inspections to validate the existence, condition, and status of capital assets
  • Interacting directly with suppliers to challenge unsupported, misclassified, or unauthorized costs
  • Preparing clear, well‑supported audit documentation and management‑level reporting
