The Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Analyst is responsible for evaluating supplier claims related to capital investments (e.g., tooling, equipment, and facilities) resulting from program cancellations or scope changes. This role is centered on fair market valuation (FMV) and benchmarking of industrial capital assets to support fact-based settlement decisions. The position combines financial analysis, engineering understanding, and commercial judgment to determine what assets are worth in the open market and what portion of supplier claims is economically justified. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that directly influences supplier settlement outcomes and partners closely with Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to resolve complex and often high-value claims. The individual will perform both analytical assessments and on-site validation of supplier-held assets, develop defensible valuation ranges, and communicate clear recommendations to stakeholders. Travel requirements up to 30%, primarily within North America with a focus on the Midwest.
