About The Position

The Capital Equipment Manager will assess clinical technologies and equipment performance to identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, and improvement. This role conducts cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership evaluations for new and replacement technologies. The Capital Equipment Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure technology decisions align with clinical needs, patient safety, and regulatory compliance, and will participate in Enterprise Equipment Standards Committees for assigned verticals. Staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and vendor offerings is crucial, as is aiding in facilitating conversations and connecting with Medical Sourcing teams on contracting needs. This position supports the development and maintenance of a multi-year capital equipment replacement plan for all fleet clinical equipment, working with Finance and stakeholders to align replacement schedules with capital budgets. The Capital Equipment Manager will serve as project manager for major equipment acquisitions, upgrades, and buyouts, negotiating bulk purchase of equipment above and beyond Advocate contract pricing. This role coordinates cross-functional teams including clinicians, IT, facilities, and vendors to ensure successful implementation and integration, developing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and monitoring progress and resolving issues to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.

Requirements

  • Advance Training in Clinical Engineering, Supply Chain, Nursing, or Healthcare Administration.
  • 5-years - Clinical Engineering, Supply Chain, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with a variety of professionals.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively form collaborative relationships with peers.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong drive to create a superior service organization, which will ensure quality and commitment to user satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills to make sound decisions and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Self-directed and independent decision-making capabilities.
  • Flexibility to deal with a changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
