About The Position

The Campaign Coordinator is a member of the Development Team and plays a primary role in coordinating and supporting Cincinnati Nature Center’s efforts to execute a successful capital campaign. This position works closely with all members of the Development Team, the organization’s Executive Director, and the Board and Campaign Committees in an environment dedicated to advancing the mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Be a passionate advocate for nature to articulate the mission of Cincinnati Nature Center
  • Communicate effectively and professionally including oral, written, and listening methods
  • Manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Exhibit good judgement, honesty, integrity, and responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a development or advancement office
  • At least two years professional experience demonstrating progressive responsibilities in development, event planning, public relations, communications or a related field

  • Must enjoy nature, be energized by finding creative solutions, and possess a sense of humor, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful outcome of BCI and FBI background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of the day-to-day activities related to the planning and execution of the capital campaign, including scheduling and supporting campaign committee meetings as well as producing campaign committee communications, meeting agendas, meeting minutes and tracking action items.
  • Ensure that all prospects, donors, gifts, pledges, visit reports and notes are entered into the donor database in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare all gift and recognition agreements as well as pledge cards, pledge reminders, and acknowledgement letters
  • Monitor progress monthly against goals and prepare reports for Director of Development.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating campaign events - house parties, dinners, ground breakings, etc.
  • Attend organization events and assist with behind-the-scenes tours and mission experiences.
  • Coordinate and assist in executing campaign stewardship plan.
  • Refine comprehensive stewardship program and implement it effectively and systematically.
  • Monitor all physical and virtual donor recognition on a regular basis, and coordinate with appropriate department (e.g. marketing, facilities) to ensure all donor recognition is accurate, in alignment with CNC’s Donor Recognition Policy and the donor’s gift agreement, and are well maintained.
  • Identify donor stories for inclusion in campaign materials (i.e. campaign newsletters and/or micro-site, organization-wide publications, annual report, etc.) and other opportunities for donor recognition.
  • Engage in regular, personal communication with donors and prospects, particularly at the major gift level.
  • Ensure recognition is in alignment with CNC’s Gift Recognition Policy.
  • Function as Development Department liaison with Central Event Management (CEM) to plan and coordinate Development events including all campaign related events and other development sponsored events, as appropriate for flawless execution and optimal donor impact.
  • Monitor Development Department event expenses, revenues, and attendance to ensure financial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Specify staffing/volunteer requirements and serve as the liaison to event volunteers, via appropriate channels.
  • Support Development Team members to ensure all donor and sponsor event benefits are fulfilled.
  • Develop clear and persuasive messaging to communicate the campaign's goals and impact to donors and stakeholders.
  • Create compelling proposals and presentations to solicit campaign donations.
