About The Position

Capital Group's Capital Associates Program (CAP) invites exceptional early-career talent who combine deep curiosity, analytical rigor, collaborative leadership, and independent thinking to help explore complex and consequential investment questions. CAP is a highly selective, immersive global rotation program for individuals who want to think deeply, challenge assumptions, and develop the judgment and skills to build a long-term career in investing. As a CAP Associate, you will investigate complex investment questions requiring original insight, careful judgment, and the ability to synthesize information across industries, markets, and disciplines. The program emphasizes rigorous research, examining industries, assessing long-term trends, asking thoughtful questions, and developing well-reasoned perspectives. Associates will share their research approach, explore ideas in depth, and produce thoughtful analyses that contribute to Capital Group’s long-term investment thinking. Recent CAP Associate research topics include Data Centers in Space, Valuation Frameworks for Bitcoin and Gold, Emerging Market Debt, the Lifecycle of U.S. Apparel and Footwear Brands, Growth of the Indian Quick-Service Restaurant Industry, Quantum Computing Supply Chain, Japan Satellite Companies, and Energy Storage and Global Lithium. CAP Associates contribute differentiated insights to the investment dialogue through real-world investment questions.

Requirements

Undergraduate or master’s (non-MBA) students in their final year of study, or those with up to one year of related experience after graduation.
Strong academic achievement (preferred GPA 3.7+).
Quantitative skills.
Comfort navigating ambiguity.
Openness to feedback.
A track record of pursuing demanding goals across academics, work, leadership, or independent interests.
Ability to lead, influence, listen, and contribute within teams.
Demonstrated curiosity about investing.
Genuine interest in developing a long-term career as an investor.
Experiences, interests, expertise, or ways of thinking that can contribute to differentiated investment insight.
Ability to absorb new ideas quickly, interrogate assumptions, work through complex problems, and develop well-supported insights.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end investment research projects that reward curiosity, intellectual discipline, and strong communication.
