About The Position
This is a volunteer position and any amount of time is appreciated. As a Canvassing Volunteer, you will play a vital role in engaging with the community to raise awareness and support for a cause. You will be responsible for face-to-face outreach, distributing informational materials, and encouraging community members to act, such as signing petitions, pledging support, or voting.
Requirements
- Passionate about the cause and comfortable speaking with new people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to walk for extended periods and work outdoors (if applicable).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Prior canvassing or outreach experience is a plus but not required, training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Walk door-to-door or engage with people in public spaces to share information about campaigns.
- Have meaningful conversations to educate and motivate individuals to take action.
- Distribute flyers, brochures, and other materials to increase awareness.
- Answer basic questions and direct individuals to appropriate resources for more information.
- Record interactions and feedback to help refine outreach strategies.
- Represent the organization in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner.
