Candy Packaging General Labor DAY SHIFT
About The Position
Elmer Chocolate is hiring a Candy Packaging General Labor associate at its Ponchatoula factory, where automated robotic machinery makes chocolate. Associates place trays and lids on an assembly line and box displays for store shelves. The factory is described as having chilly air conditioning, and associates can chat with coworkers while working around the smell of caramel and sugar. The set schedule is typically Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with alternating Fridays involving approximately four hours of cleaning. The position pays $13 per hour plus a $2-per-hour perfect-attendance premium, with weekly pay and opportunities for advancement. Overtime and weekend work may be needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass drug screen(s).
- Reliable transportation.
- Dependable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for 10 hours.
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, use force, carry, push or pull, and occasionally lift less than 50 pounds.
- Ability to apply manual dexterity and specified visual acuity.
